Busy, Busy… Blessing!
Today was a very busy day for me. Besides taking care of the family I had 4 projects to work on. It is 10:03pm right now and I just finish working on them all. The first project was for my Mother, the cook. It is her first cookbook and I have done all of the layout and design. All that is left is the index. I completed the content pages and tomorrow I will get started on the index. This is the part of the projects that I find tedious. Typing is not my thing! I would show the cover of the cookbook but my Mother has it all under wraps. No one can see anything until she gets it copyrighted. I feel her on that! I would hate for someone else to take clam of my design work.
Project 2, I have a new client Kathi, an Event Planner. She contacted me today even though she was planning on using Elance or one of the other design web companies to work on the project. I know it was God. I worked with the company she is planning the event for. I always ask God to give me favor with people, even people I have never met. That is what He did for me today. Working with Kathi may lead to more projects in the future. She needed 4 separate designs for the event. A Poster (Signage), 5×7 fact cards, 8.5×11 Marketing page and a candy box label. I will show the end result hopefully tomorrow. She needed everything done by tomorrow morning.
Project 3, I updated the averywinterheat.com website (check it out) and launched it tonight. I really want to stop working on websites and only focus on logos and marketing designs. Don’t get me wrong I love getti
ng paid for doing it but once again tedious. Today I have to turn down a job because I knew that I wasn’t an expert in doing it. A wonderful client of mine offers me to redo a Joomla CMS site, to update it… give it more life. I could have done it but with Joomla so much could have gone wrong, which would have taken more time to work on it. I didn’t want the headache. This is what she emailed me when I turned the project down.
“I have never ummm “appreciated” Joomla myself. Way too clunky. Darn tho — I wanted to kick work your way because you’re so awesome” -V
I just love her! See, God blesses me with such awesome clients.
The last project: a Thanksgiving Basket Give Away flyer for a church Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Stephanie Carter is whom I get all of the details from. This year I have been doing all of their flyer/postcarddesigns. Here is the first proof below. I’m sure it will change once they want to add more to it.

I pray that tomorrow will be just as busy and I will gain some new clients.
New Site, New Clients
Thank you for visiting my portfolio website! Okay so my old site was out of date and got destroyed by me trying to update it. This is a fresh start for me by rebuilding it. I really love the look and feel of it. I went with WordPress instead of Joomla. The updates for Joomla was too much for me right now. I hope to get myself out on the web more to gain new clients using WordPress. Of course I love all of my current clients but it doesn’t hurt to have more. Just like my new client Jim from Caprice Vineyards. I just completed an ad design for Rolling Hills Alpaca Boutique.

The Boutique is one of his businesses. I really enjoyed working on this design. We met the deadline for turning it in to the newspaper. The previous project I did for them was for their label. They needed turned into a vector image.
